Sven Lorenz is permanently probing the world for the unreal to find the surreal in the real world - hence the passion for photography as an expression of the supposedly objective reality. "Finding just this strange reality is what actually surprises in the everyday world of urban space in our self-created artificial landscapes of cities and our industrial landscapes.
“What fascinates me most are intricate, undiscovered structures which through almost poetic interaction with the ordinary form a paradox contrast -reminiscent of a twilight zone".
To illustrate this, Sven Lorenz not only engages the viewport angle as main actress itself but also employs special post-production techniques of digital photography without changing, however, the essence of the original, thus enhancing the twilight zone between poetic reality and objective reality.
